Environmental Health & Safety Consultant

• Salary: Commensurate with experience level

Essential Functions

These functions are competently applied to H&A clientele in diverse industry settings but primarily manufacturing, construction, and service industries:

• Ensure OSHA and environmental compliance
• Conduct industrial hygiene evaluations
• Develop, implement, and monitor systems to meet OSHA and environmental requirements
• Train staff in health, safety, and environmental management
• Conduct OSHA and environmental compliance audits
• Conduct incident investigations
• Develop compliance calendars
• Develop health, safety, and environmental programs
• Support hazardous waste disposal
• Conduct ergonomic assessments
• Assess indoor air quality
• Perform mold contamination assessments and sampling
• Interpret standards and codes

Adhere to Company policies including but not limited to:

• Policies outlined in the H&A Employee Handbook
• Safety policies
• Work processes and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

• Familiar with industrial hygiene instrumentation and its calibration
• Organizational skills to allow the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
• High level of motivation
• Self-starter
• Ability to independently seek out resources
• Willing to work night shifts periodically
• Willing to travel periodically
• Familiarity with MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Gmail
• Strong writing skills
• Work collaboratively with H&A team
• Summarize technical concepts in written reports
• Maintain confidentiality of all work information

Education or Formal Training

• BS in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or related field
• Spanish language fluency a plus

Experience

Two to five years in a health and/or safety position requiring OSHA and environmental compliance knowledge.
