Through her experience there, she assisted in new-hire safety training, job hazard assessments, hazardous waste inspections and revised safety data sheets. From May 2014 to November 2020, Kassey also interned at Hellman & Associates and then as Senior EHS Consultant. Prior to graduating from Colorado State University in 2019, Kaiza interned for the Environmental Health & Safety Department at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Through her experience there, Kaiza was able to support the company through an OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) recertification, perform noise monitoring and develop a comprehensive noise map, and update their hazard communication program. Kaiza’s professional experience includes supporting EHS development and implementation for Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE), serving as a safety coordinator. In her time at KSE, she developed a comprehensive health & safety program and built relationships with employees. She also acted as the main safety trainer for multiple buildings and venues, teaching subjects such as bloodborne pathogens and sharps, fire extinguisher safety, and forklift safety. Heather wears multiple hats, ranging from gas detection sales and support to safety manual compilation to maintaining customer compliance calendars. Through his time there, he gained experience in risk assessments, lock-out tag-out procedures, safety program implementation, record-keeping and inspections/audits in a distribution setting. He also worked in the safety department at BYU-Idaho as a HAZMAT Safety Specialist and was responsible for the appropriate storage and disposal of all chemicals used on campus while also managing the safety data sheets.
